Prawns Roast (Konju Roast)


Clean the prawns and marinate it, with the following ingredients and keep it for ½ an hour and fry it in a pan using any oil.

1) Prawns – ½ Kg
2) Chilly powder – 2 ½ tea spoon
3) Coriander Powder – 1 ½ tea spoon
4) Turmeric powder – 1 tea spoon
5) Garam masala powder – 1 tea spoon
6) Pepper powder – 1 ½ tea spoon
7) Lime juice – 1 ½ tea spoon

For Gravy

1) Big Onion – 2 medium finely chopped
2) Green chilly – 2 pcs. Chopped
3) Tomato – 1 big pc(finely chopped)
4) Garlic - 2 pod Chopped
5) Ginger – 1 small piece- Chopped
6) Kashmiri Chilly powder – 1 table spoon
7) Coriander Powder – ½ table spoon
8) Turmeric powder – 1 tea spoon
9) Garam masala powder – 1 ½ tea spoon
10) Coconut juice fresh – 1 ½ cups ( or you can use coconut powder- 3 table spoon)
11) Curry leaves - few

Method

Take the pan and heat oil put finely chopped onion and saute until it turns transparent & slight brown, then add green chilly, garlic and ginger and saute for again few minutes, then add Kashmiri chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric, Garam masala powder and curry leaves, then saute it for 2 minutes then add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add coconut juice & let it boil then add the prawns to the Masala, cover the pan and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the prawns becomes dry with masala.

This goes well with idiyappam, chappathy, bread and puttu.
