Ghee Rice


How to make Ghee Rice

Ingredients

1) Basmati Rice – 2 cups
2) Water – 4 cups.
3) Ghee – 4-6 tbsp
4) Onions – 2 nos.( Finely chopped)
5) Ginger – 1 tsp( Crushed)
6) Garlic – 1 tsp(Crushed)
7) Cashew nuts – As required
8) Raisins – As required
9) Whole pepper corns– 10nos.
10) Cinnamon- 4-5 pieces of 1 inch stick
11) Cardamom – 6 nos.
12) Bay leaves- 1 no.
13) Salt – To taste.

Method

Soak the rice in water for half an hour and wash and drain the rice and keep it aside.Heat ghee in a pan and fry half of the chopped onions till golden brown and keep aside. In the balance ghee saute cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, bay leaves, ginger-garlic paste, and remaining chopped onions. Add rice to it and fry for another 5-6 mints till it becomes crusty. Then add 4 cups of boiled water to rice then mix it and cover and cook until all the water is disappeared. Garnish with fried cashews, raisins and onions.
