Cabbage Thoran


Cabbage Thoran

Ingredients


1) Cabbage – 2 cups- Finley shredded.
2) Onion – 1 big – Finely Chopped
3) Green Chilly – 3-4 finely chopped
4) A small piece of carrot – finely chopped
5) Turmeric powder – 1 pinch ( Optional)
6) Grated coconut- ½ Cups.
7) Salt – to taste


For seasoning


1) Oil- 2 table spoon
2) Curry Leaves- As required
3) Mustard – ¾ table spoon
4) Cumin seeds – ½ tea spoon( optional)
5) Blck gram dhal/Urdu Dal spited- 1 ½ Table spoon.

Method

Mix the ingredients 1-7 with your hands. Heat oil in a pan. When mustard seed pop up, add Urdu dal and sauté for few seconds till it becomes slight golden clour, and then add curry leaves along with the cabbage mixture. Mix well and close the pan with lid and cook about 5-6 minutes in slow fire (No need to add any water) you can stir the mixture at every 2 minutes.
