Kovakka( Ivy Gourd) Thoran

How to make kovakka (Ivy gourd/Tindora) Thoran

1) Kovakka – Chopped in to round shape( 20 pices)
2) Big Onion- 1 big – Thinly chopped
3) Green Chilly – 2-3 – Chopped
4) Grated coconut- As required.
5) Salt
6) Oil- 1- 2 table spoon
7) Salt – To tasteMethod

I never had a liking for Kovakka, but my recent vacation to india my amma made it in a simple way and forced me to eat the thoran …….. it was really nice……….So I tried here also.

wash the kovakka thoroughly then Chop in to thin round shapes then mix well 2-5 ingredients using hands take a pan & put 2-table spoon of oil then splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves and put the mix . Cook for about 5- 7 minutes for a low flame.(Don’t put water for cooking). Then stir again for another 2 minutes in a medium flame to resolve the water content.
