Potato curry


How to make Potato Curry


Ingredients

1) Potato – 2 nos. ( big size- chopped as cube size)
2) Green Chilly – 4 nos. ( chopped)
3) Garlic clove – 2 nos. ( chopped thinly)
4) Ginger – 1 small piece ( chopped thinly)
5) Big onion – 2 nos ( chopped finely)
6) Tomato – 1 no ( medium sized- chopped)
7) Turmeric powder – 2 pinch
8) Chilly powder – 1 teaspoon
9) Crushed pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
10) Garam masala powder – ½ teaspoon.
11) Salt – to taste
12) Oil – 2 table spoon
13) Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon

Method


Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, splutter mustard seeds then add garlic & ginger sauté for 30 seconds then add chopped onion and sauté until it becomes slight golden color then add chilly powder, turmeric powder, crushed pepper powder & garam masala powder and sauté for few seconds then add chopped tomatoes and sauté until it cooked well, then add potato’s and mix well and add sufficient water and cook in medium heat for about 8-9 minutes. Open the pan and mashed half of the potatoes using your spatula; this will give a creamy texture to your curry. Do a taste test at this time and adjust the salt accordingly. Serve hot with chappathy.
