Nadan Prawns Fry ( Konjju porichhathu)



How to make Nadan Prawns/Konjju fry

Ingredients

1) Prawns – ¼ kg
2) Ginger & Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
3) Pepper powder – 2 ½ teaspoon
4) Chilly powder – 2 ½ teaspoon
5) Turmeric powder – ¾ teaspoon.
6) Garam Masala – ½ teaspoon ( optional)
7) Water – 1-2 table spoon
8) Salt to taste
9) Oil – As required for frying ( shallow)
10) Curry leaves.

For Masala

1) Big onion- 1 no. (Chopped)
2) Garlic cloves – 2 nos ( Chopped)
3) Ginger – Small piece – (Chopped)
4) Curry leaves – As required
5) Tomato – ½ piece ( chopped- Optional)
6) Oil – 1- 2 table spoon
7) Salt – to taste

Method

Clean the prawns well using salt and lime juice so the raw smell will go completely and make a paste using the above ingredients( 2- 8) and marinate it with the prawns and insert tooth pick to each prawns and keep aside for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan, once it hot place the prawns carefully and fry both sides till it done on a medium heat.( 2-3 minutes) and remove it from fire and drain the excess oil using kitchen towel and keep aside.

Heat oil (use the left over oil of prawns fry) in another pan , add garlic and ginger sauté for 40 seconds then add chopped big onion and sauté until it turns a dark golden brown and add the fried prawns & some curry leaves and mix well carefully.
